Absolute Absolutest

As a photojournalist, your ethics should always be absolute. Say if you have a picture that you really love, it has great emotion, great energy, but there's a tree that merges with the top of the main subject's head you should either post and print it the way it is, or don't print it at all.

A photo can capture truth, but to a very limited group, the people who know the whole, true, story of and about the photo. If someone takes a picture of a Zebra, but didn't really care to count the stripes while they're actually seeing all sides, how in the world will he know the right number if he only sees one side? Then, if that photo is published, the readers will be lied to in hearing that this Zebra has only the seen amount of stripes times two for the other side. What if that Zebra had one more hidden stripe? That is not the truth.

It's wrong to lie, including "keeping the whole truth to yourself." If a image is altured then that's just the same. If news papers intend to let people "know the true" they better speak the truth.

Funny captions

Local male dog, Buddy-Ray, meraculously gave birth to 15 yellow ducklings. The baby ducks and Buddy-Ray now live together in a 16 roomed dog house complete with 3 kitchens and 9 bathrooms. No news yet on how snow white and the seven dawfs are taking being kick out of the dog house mansion.

Russian Olimpic swimmer, John Wayne Jr., trained for the Olimpics over the period of four years while his dog had to stay on shore or at home. Thanks to his new invention of the "Man's Best Sea-Friend", he and his feet sniffing friend can swim together in harmony.

28-year-old, Thomas Knights, went on an emotional rampage last Tuesday after realizing that both of his bike wheels were flat. Thomas was late to work because he got no where.

Action shot.

in this photo the depth of field is a about as far as the middle of the field. the peopleway in the back are blurry and the Basket ball players up front are in focus. the shutter speed looks like it's somewhere between 1/500 and 1/2000 because people can not really pose in mid air, therefore it must be fast.
(plus the line techneque is used at that adds to the depth.)

Merge

i chose this picture for murging because there's nothing in this photo that blends in, no one's "head" is cut off. so i think it;s a good example.

Lines

this picture has vertical lines that lead right to the men on top of that building.

Fram fill.

this picture has a lot of fram fill to me because the smoke in the picture makes it look a little bigger and the sky and buildings look like a border.

Rule of thirds

i pictued this because in every third, there's a different picture
the first horisantal layer is sky
the second horisantal layer is buildings
the third horisantal layer is running people

After Printing

I've known about exposures and deveoping for a long time now because I've had a photography class before, but I never knew how to develop them. now after doing all of it, I've leared how to:
-Cleaned Negatives
-Loaded Negative into enlarger
-Focused imageSet aperture
-Made test strip
-Made Final Print
(I think this is the best class ever.)

9/11

I choose this picture because i feel that all the rules were followed very well.
there is contrast because the buildings are dark and the smoke is lighter.
there is not a lot going on, but deffedently enough to make it inturesting.
the frame is filled.

Black and White profetional.

This to me is a really cool shot. People always say a picture's worth a thousand words, but this picture it word a million. Unfortuanatly, I don't have that sort of time..

Anyway, this picture it from Chicago in the year 1950, exposed by Mr. Harry Callahan.

This is also a really nice shot, Canded, and all.

This is shot by Robert Doisneau in Square du Vert-Galant, year of 1950 as well.

I honestly am not sure why I like this picture, but something catches my eye.

shot by Lee Friedlander in New York, year 1963.

Black and White

I had a few pictures that were not exposed verywell, but the most of them were awesome! However, Connolly did say to pic two favorties. Therefore, I would have to say.
24- which is a picture of a little girl playing in a puddle of water.
10- which is two hands reaching over to eachother over all the rest of the hands and writen on one of the arms is "love you chris" with a heart on it.

Filling the frame

This image fills the frame in a very cool way. how the depth shows and is very very deep. looks like something i would take a picture of. kudos to the photographer.

-Action and Emotion-

This image has a lot going on. At first i was going to use it as my frame fill. HOWEVER, the emotion in the picture adds to the action, which even without that it would have enough action in the first place.

THE STORY

The image that tells the story the best to me is this one.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
The story to me is that when you stop to think about things, life slows down. And all thoughts come to you at once. You are the only one in your day dream.

pinhole pics

1. There's no person or action in the photo. 2. The things in the back are in focus, the things in front are not. 3. Not really warped well.

1. It's a creepy photo. 2. None of it is really in focus. 3. Is the image warped at all. . . HELL YEAH IT IS! The warps rounded. . .ish.
